Kindergarten & schools
Schools and kindergartens are welcome to visit Vitensenter Nordland either to take part in educational program led by our skilled science communications or to explore the exhibition on their own.
Plan your visit
Before visiting us, there are a few practical details that are good to clarify in advance.
Advance Booking Required
Visits should always be booked in advance due to limited capacity. Schools and kindergartens without a prior booking will be charged the standard admission rates, subject to availability.
Free for accompanying staff
Staff members (teachers, preschool teachers, and assistants) receive free admission. Other adult chaperones are admitted free of charge within the established quota limits.
Invoicing and payment
We offer invoicing for school and kindergarten visits. A purchase order must be provided upon arrival or sent by email in advance. For invoices under NOK 500, an additional administration fee will apply.
Reduced rates
We offer specially tailored and discounted rates for kindergartens, primary schools, and upper secondary schools.
Admission only
- Full access to all our interactive exhibition areas.
- Explore, discover, and play at your own pace together with accompanying adults.
- Access to suitable areas for eating packed lunches.
- Advance booking is required to ensure capacity.
Educational program
- A specially designed educational program led by one of our science communicators.
- Teaching activities directly linked to the LK20 curriculum objectives for your grade level.
- Free exploration for the exhibition before and/or after the program.
- We recommend booking well in advance to secure your preferred topic and time slot.
Guidelines for accompanying adults
To ensure both safety and a positive learning experience during the visit, groups must be accompanied by a sufficient number of adult supervisors. Teachers, assistants, and kindergarten staff are always admitted free of charge.
Kindergarten children
One adult chaperone is admitted free of charge for every six kindergarten children.
School students
One adult chaperone is admitted free of charge for every ten school students.
Purchase orders and payment
We aim to make the payment process simple and straightforward for your school and kindergarten.
If you would like the invoice to be sent directly to your school or kindergarten, a signed purchase order must be submitted at reception upon arrival. Alternatively, the purchase order may be sent to us by email in advance.
